I am a boutique wedding photographer, meaning I only book 5-10 weddings a year with couples who value quality over quantity, and who want images of connection rather than images from a shot list. Shooting a minimal amount of weddings allows me to make sure your experience is stellar and focus my creativity on your unique day.

So, do you want your wedding day to be more focused on the marriage to come instead of the color of napkins that will just be thrown away?

THIS IS A PLACE FOR
lasting LOVE.

Do you want gorgeous portraits of you and your love at sunset instead of a million photos of people eating their dinner? Do you just want a love like Jim & Pam? If you can answer yes to those questions, let's chat, because you are my kind of bride and I believe I'm the photographer you've been searching for.

THIS IS A PLACE FOR lasting LOVE.

In the spring of my sophomore year of high school, I was at my friends house, and these two boys came over. One of the boys, Donald, was really into my friend, but she told me she wasn't really into him. We hung out around Donald's white Pontiac Grand Prix, and at one point, I crawled onto the top of the car and dented in the roof. Thankfully, I didn't ruin his car, but to say the least, I made quite the first impression. A few weeks went by, and my friend still wasn't into him, so she told me I should talk to him. Ha, kinda awful of her to pass him onto me to deal with, right? But before Donald and I knew it, we were talking daily. I told him I needed help with my algebra (which was valid, but was also a reason to hang out with him), and we were inseparable that spring. On May 3rd, 2004, he asked me to be his girlfriend at the top of the tower at Falls Park. After I said yes, he kissed me for the first time. And everyone said, "awww!" #soromantic
We dated all through that summer, and went off and on through my junior year. There were romantic mix CDs, lots and lots of love notes exchanged in hallways (all of which I still have), and endless AOL Instant Messenger chat transcripts. And because we were children, we'd decide to break up every few months and then there would be dramatic break up mix CDs, heartbreaking note exchanges and vague AOL profile descriptions. (P.S. I realize no one knows what AOL is anymore, it's pretty much today's version of texting, but it tied up your land phone-line. Man, I feel so old typing this out.) He broke up with me again before he went to college (typical, right?), but he came home for a visit in October of 2005 and admitted he was a big ol' dummy and wanted me back. This girl had her boyfriend back! We dated all through my senior year. At prom my dress was teal and Donald wore a pink vest and tie...the colors we wanted for our wedding someday.
I went to college 4 hours away from him, and distance definitely made our hearts grow fonder. I decided to transfer to the same college he was at. I knew I'd marry that boy and I wanted to be close to him. On one of my visits home, he took me to the jewelry store and let me pick out my own ring. He knew I was picky and wanted me to be happy...smart man. So, he bought the ring in October...and didn't propose until I came home in December. He made me wait two months while I knew he had the ring! By the time he actually proposed (at Falls Park of course), I thought he was going to open an empty ring box. Thankfully for me, there was a ring inside, and I said yes. I was 18 and he was 19 and we were crazy, innocently, perfectly in love. Two and half years later, I became a Mrs. Today, 10 years later, I'm even more in love with him, even more undeserving of his love, and even more grateful that I sat on roof of his white Pontiac Grand Prix.

How much do you love going to your parents’ or grandparents’ house and seeing their wedding photos in that old frame hanging on the wall? Long after the cake is cut, your gown is preserved and you’re celebrating anniversaries, the only thing you’ll have left to remember the day are your wedding photos. My goal is to create frame worthy photos you can treasure for generations, and I believe they should look good now, and fifty years from now. The way I ensure a timeless quality is by keeping my images full of natural light and warmth, and editing them minimally, maintaining the natural colors.

There is something beautiful that happens when my clients trust me to document their love instead of direct their entire day. While I'm a fan of timelines and can use my mom voice to corral rowdy groomsmen, I also cherish the moments of quiet stillness as you fall into the embrace of your brand new spouse in the warm glow of sunset. There are moments during your day I will take control and make sure we get all of the images you want, but those will be equally balanced by me simply observing and documenting your day as it unfolds.

We will highly recommend you to all of our friends! Thank you again!” -Bailey, Bride

“I cannot express how grateful I am that I chose Chelsey for my engagement and wedding photographer! My original reason for choosing Chelsey Photography was the beautiful style of her photography, but after the experience I can say she is so much more! She is 100% professional—this girl knows what she’s doing! I was completely worry-free and able to enjoy the photo sessions knowing she had everything under control. We were able to customize the experience to our personalities and just enjoy our big day! I am so impressed by the quality of the photographs and would not hesitate to hire her again! Thank you SO much, Chelsey!” -Aimee, Bride
